Long time no blog

So I thought I would post something!

  1. IS there an interest in a “the state of the birding community” blog post? Do I even have a grasp on what the “birding community” currently is? I feel like it could be titled “Birders are becoming an endangered species”… I fell there’s been an increase in twitching & a decrease in active birding - and have had others express similar thoughts. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, but I do start to question elements of my own birding, primarily: what would birding be like if I didn’t report my sightings to others? Would my birding interests or habits change? What would become of the blog?

    2. I don't go birding or twitching anymore, I just bird vicariously through your blog. So post anything, I'll read it, just make sure it has pictures.

  2. I`m of the opposite nature. I really detest reporting my sightings to other people. Birding is my hobby, something I do for fun. I personally wish there was an option on ebird not to share sightings with anyone, including the reviewers. I really really hate being judged on something that is supposed to be fun. If I wanted to be judged I would take up dog and pony shows. I only use ebird because avisys folded. That`s just me though.
