Redwings are replacing Fieldfares in range - and there has been a big increase in North American records to follow this change!
There were 3 (I think 3?) records of Fieldfare in Ontario before the switch - so it's time to learn Redwing! Be ready for it!!!
Fieldfare records for Ontario, thanks to Alan Wormington:
ReplyDeleteMay 24, 1975 -- one male, Long Point (Courtright Ridge), Norfolk County.
References: see Hussell (1975), James (1976), Hussell & Porter (1977).
January 1-March 5, 1981 -- one, Islington, Toronto R.M.
January 8, 1967 -- one, Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa R.M. References: see
MacKenzie (1968).

looks like early January will be a good time to find that Redwing!
