Say goodbye to winter: Shift in the medium-range weather maps

Good golly molly - haven't seen this in a while.. Heat!

6-10 day forecast map now showing warm air to the south

8-14 day map showing a fairly obvious blast of warm air for the eastern USA. 50- 70% chance of above average temps !

That'll get the birds flying... From a few sources I've read, it seems like a major shift in the northern hemisphere weather patterns is under way.. So I feel like we can be reasonably confident that starting around Thursday or Friday we can say goodbye to winter and watch the spectacle of migration unfold! (There's always the chance that a small blast of cold will reach south for a day or two, but overall - we'll be enjoying most days in the warmth!)

Tobe honest - my big interest is what will be happening in the last 7-10 days of April...  When it really starts to hit the fan... The CPC updated their monthly forecast for April on Mar 31st:

Given that the first week of April will be below average (5-6 days), the fact that they're showing us as warm looks encouraging. Although you can see by the dip (B) of cold and average temps that they'll still expect some arctic air to drop southwards (negative NAO still?) .. But yeah --- I think this looks like a lot of fun and hopefully a positive forecast that we'll get an early blast of migrants and vagrants in April again!

(And I just noticed that this will post on Apr 1st - it's no joke though) ! :)
