Here's another "Herring Gull" that has multiple features associated with "European" Herring Gull, that I can only assume grew up somewhere here in North America. But you can check it out for yourself:

Nice Gull. There were a couple like this in St.John's last winter. We have to be extra careful since Euro HERG is pretty much annual here although seemingly rarer than it used to be. There are some commonalities among these Euro-like smiths that I'll probably write about in a future blog post. Nicely documented!
