New York - Gray-crowned Rosy Finch

I didn't get around to doing a blog posting today, so here's something short and sweet as filler.

Gray-crowned Rosy Finch east of Lake Ontario in NY... Here's a map:,-75.3714339%20(Gray-crowned%20Rosy-Finch)

Here's the first email posting about the bird:

Subject: Gray Crowned Rosy Finch

Date: Sun, 4 Mar 2012 18:10:28 -0500My sister on Tug Hill has a Gray Crowned Rosy Finch coming to feeders. She has been feeding huge numbers of Goldfinches and this little guy turned up today while she was doing Feederwatch counts. She is allowing visitors to observe the feeders. She has posted a few pictures on the Lab of O Facebook page. I can provide contact info off list. Janet Akin, Seneca Castle -- Cayugabirds-L List Info:

 And some pics:

Gives me hope that one of these beauts will someday show up in southern Ontario at a reasonable driving distance!
