Pelee - Apr 20, 2012

Well there was clearly some migration last night... No fallout, but a healthy dose of new migrants in the park this morning. Here's some of our personal birds of note today:

Orchard Oriole (young male)
Red-headed Woodpecker (at least 6)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - 10 to 15
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Gray Catbird
Warbling Vireos (2)
Red-eyed Vireo

Warblers:

Blackburnian!
Nashville (~10)
Black-throated Greens (4+)
Palm (2)
Yellow-rumped (30-40?)
Ovenbird

Hillman had our FOY Least Sandpiper among the usual's...

Some year birds from Apr 19th were Chimney Swift and Red-breasted Nuthatch (actually my FOY)

Hey good lookin! From today...

=================

Wheatley Harbour had a very pale/funny looking gull that is suggestive of a "1st winter/spring" Slaty-backed Gull or perhaps a Glaucous-winged X Herring Gull...

Here's a video of the bird:

So what do you think? Slaty-backed for sure, right?
