Kelp Gull? For the love of god... I just want to go out in my boat!

But instead I've got to drive to freakin Wheatley Harbour to look for a Kelp-ish like freak gull this evening...

Not happening in 2012 so far......

I guess if I want to find something rare, I'm going to have to go birding.. Starting Sept 24th probably, since I'm busy with work....

====================

Side Note: previous records of Kelp Gull from Texas, Colorado, Maryland, Indiana, Florida, Louisiana, and nearby Mexico + tropical islands.......

Probable Kelp Hybrids:

Prediction: If its still here, it'll show up in the afternoon - when gulls usually start to build in numbers at Wheatley.....

Scary thought: I didn't want to publish this, but I'm going to........ Hurricane Isaac traveled through the Caribbean and hit Louisiana.... That's Kelp Gull territory as far as North America is concerned....

And even though I said it wouldn't bring anything (HA, whoops) there was also this beauty of a Shearwater on Lake Michigan at the same time:
