IT'S TIME!!!!!!!!

Pelee Pelee Pelee!!! A few years ago, I made this image - which was pretty popular methinks..

A few times I tried to re-create the magic, and failed horribly... This year I took another stab at it - and while it may not be quite the same - I'm fairly happy with it... It also has more species, so I think that's neat...

So what do you think? Look good? Which is beter?

What's Pelee going to be like in 2014?!

  1. The second one is definitely better, nicely done! So excited for full-scale spring migration, don't know if I'll be able to make it to Pelee this year though.

  2. They're both excellent. Some nice work there. Keep it up!
I'm sooo looking forward to the spring surge of colour.

  4. I like the original as it not as "busy"(fewer species)as the newer image. The decidedly larger size of the Cerulean and the Kirtland's imbalances the image and creates a double focal point. All in all they make good "posters".

  6. I agree the 2nd one is busier, but it's my pick. Do you start from inside and work your way out, or from the outside and work your way in? when you're cut and pasting does it rely mainly on the degree of feathering that you use in Pshop or are you manually blurring the edges too? I really need to learn more about using layers...

  7. Thanks for the comments all! The ones that have "worked" began from the inside and worked out. I'm just using the clone tool to copy/paste the images onto each other. May be easier with layers etc, but I'm not good with that either!
